FEES
Investment in yours & your families wellbeing
Full fee service
Family therapy is a proven highly effective approach to addressing complex individual challenges and family dynamics. While family therapy is not currently covered under the Medicare rebate scheme in Australia, many clients find the value of this focused, systemic approach outweighs the financial investment. Family therapy can address concerns like parenting challenges, adolescent issues, trauma, anxiety, depression and relational dynamics in a way that individual therapy may not.
Understanding the cost
The Australian Psychological Society (APS) National Schedule of Suggested Fees for 2024-2025 recommends a standard fee of $311 for a 46-60 minute consultation with a psychologist. For clients seeing psychologists under Medicare, a rebate may be available for up to 10 sessions per calendar year with an eligible referral & treatment plan. However, even with rebates, many clients remain out of pocket, as the full cost is not covered.

The cost of Family therapy sessions reflects the specialised nature of this work, the flexibility of care, and the significant potential for transformation.

Our Distinctive Approach

Testimonials
"Coming to Storgé Family Therapy Centre, I initially thought I was seeking help for my son. However, through sessions with Mel, I realised that it was me who needed the support. Throughout my life, I've seen various psychologists, but never have I felt as understood and held as I did here. Mel created a safe space that allowed me to open up and address my own internal issues. It turns out, the therapy I was seeking for my son was a journey I needed for myself. I am grateful for the profound impact this has had on both my life and my family's well-being."
- STORGÉ FAMILY THERAPY CLIENT
"Our adolescent daughter was struggling significantly with school and social interactions. We felt lost until we found Storge Family Therapy Centre. The sessions, particularly the focus on family dynamics, opened our eyes to how we could better support her. Mel's approach was not only professional but incredibly compassionate. We saw improvements within weeks, and our home is now a much happier place for all of us."
- STORGÉ FAMILY THERAPY CLIENT
"Before coming to Storge Family Therapy Centre, I struggled deeply with feelings of shame and self-blame regarding my reactions and behaviors towards my husband and children. Working with Mel has been a life-changing experience. She guided me through family of origin work that illuminated so much of what I thought was inherently wrong with me. Mel was the first therapist who truly helped me understand that these behaviors weren't a reflection of my character, but rather responses to what had happened to me in my past. This profound insight has drastically reduced the shame I once carried and helped me to stop hating myself for things beyond my control. Understanding this has not only healed my own wounds but has also profoundly improved my relationships at home. I am eternally grateful for Mel's compassion and wisdom; she has helped me transform not just my life, but the lives of my family as well."
